Hi!
In case this pops up on the test:
Can any stakeholder add items to the PB or can only the Product Owner(PO) do this?
I know the PO is the the one responsible for managing and prioritizing the PB, but what about adding items?
Thanks!
Sebastian

Yes, anyone can add items to the backlog but approval and prioritization lies with PO

Thanks!
Sorry for being a stickler, but what if an item gets added by someone but not *approved* by the PO?

Then it will be removed from the backlog, no big deal

This is an interesting question because a PBI must have the attributes of a description, order, and estimate.
Since only the PO can determine the order, and only the development team can make the estimate, it implies that nothing can be added to the Product Backlog without their joint approval.
I don't recall this particular question coming up in either PSM I or PSM II, but it's definitely the sort of thing that could be asked.

Hi Ian, I think the answer to your question is: anyone can add items to the PB. The PO must agree on new items because he's responsible for product value, and the dev team must add detail to and estimate them during grooming. That way, when the next sprint planning comes up, the PBI will include all info necessary to be discussed and selected for the upcoming sprint.
