Number of SBI in sprint

Hello to all,

This week I've started to prepare for PSM I. The resources mentioned in this forum help a lot.
One thing I don't yet understand is:

Can the number of SBI in a sprint change during a sprint?
In the Open Assessment there is a question that it can be changed by the PO together with DT.
In the SM Training Manual it is fixed (bottom p26).
In the Scrum Guide (p14) only DT can only refine the existing SBIs.

If the number can be changed every sprint will be successful (items not done can be removed).
If the number is fixed: Is the question in the Open Assessment correct?

A Sprint Backlog is a forecast of the work that will be needed to meet the agreed Sprint Goal. The content is therefore subject to change during the Sprint as replanning can be necessary.

The Development Team wholly own the Sprint Backlog and only they can change it. Their decision to replan can be influenced by any number of factors including their ongoing collaboration with the Product Owner.

Thanks for your reply Ian.

Do you advice to read the Scrum Master Training Manual then?
It says the sprint is fixed (see my first post). Are there maybe other differences that are not in line with the PSM I Assessment?

The Scrum Guide is the canonical reference. You can read around the subject as much as you like, but you should *always* regard the information in the Scrum Guide as being definitive.
