Hello,
i'm practising scrum now for about 2 years, sometimes as scrum master; sometimes as a team member (depends on the project).
Now I read about the new PSM II assessment.
I did the PSM I assessment also 2 years ago after visiting a 3 day course.
How may i prepare for the new PSM II assessment?

I did the previous incarnation of the PSM II before the recent changes (there were only two assessments then).

The big difference I found with the level I exam and the later exam was really need to make sure you understood the difference between Scrum and the ways of implementing scrum (eg. what is the Framework vs a common practice that is used within the framework) - as an example of this User Stories although a defacto standard are not product backlog items.

You also need to be aware that any implementation always have tradeoffs so you need to articulate the many ways things could possibly work and why and why not. This means for any question there is usually not a "perfect answer" and if you think you have one, you probably aren't appreciative of why a framework like Scrum exists.

Finally if you can really embrace the underlying values and principles of Scrum and make sure you think about how you maximise those in how you apply scrum, you'll do well.

In terms of prep, the way I actually prepared for the exam was to take it as a learning opportunity and just do the exam. It costs some money, but the best way to learn is to inspect and adapt of course :)

I failed abysmally the first time, but I learnt a whole lot about the things I thought I knew and the things I actually knew :)

Was also awesome back then to have Ken Schwaber actually check your exam and give you direct honest feedback.

I then spent the next year or two reading a whole lot of things, actually doing and practicing the things I hadn't fully embraced yet, and then came back and did the exam again.
