Dear All,

I am planning to give Professional Scrum Master 1 exam. I read so many articles and blogs. But, nowhere I found the proper books for exam.

Please let me know which book to refer for Professional Scrum Master 1 exam.

#1 = the last version (2016) of the Scrum Guide

Hi Naveen,

The Scrum Guide (http://scrumguides.org) is the definitive source for what Scrum is, so that's a good place to start.

There is not one book in particular that you should read to prepare for the PSM I, although there is a list of them here: https://www.scrum.org/Courses/Professional-Scrum-Master/PSM-Subject-Are…. Many of those are beyond the scope of the PSM I, so I would recommend starting with "Scrum - A Pocket Guide" since it covers all of the basics.

By far, the best book for PSM preparation is https://www.amazon.com/Scrum-Narrative-Exam-Guide-All--ebook/dp/B018JXY…, of course after the Scrum Guide.
The only area not adequately addressed in that book is the scaled scrum. You may want to understand it by reading Nexus Guide freely available in scrum.org.

As for the 10+ books recommended by scrum.org for the preparation, Scrum - A Pocket Guide, Enterprise and the Scrum may help around 10% of the test.

However, I strongly urge you to take time to read few of them, as the preparation momentum will make you more receptive to acquire the scrum knowledge. Otherwise, once you pass the test, you may loose motivation to increase your scrum knowledge.

Beware of the some of the old books in the list. Scrum Guide has moved on, but these old books have outdated content.
