Just passed PSM 1 this morning. 77 out of 80. Want to share some tips.

1. Do the developer open assessment. There are some questions which came out of it.
2. Forget about testtakeronline. The material is outdated.
3. There are questions about burndown charts. http://mgmtplaza.com/downloads/Scrum%20Training%20Manual.pdf This will help.

I took the self study path and 4 days. Started on Tuesday. Like many others, it is important to reflect on what you have learnt from the guide, rather than memorizing it.

The only useful material from my point of view, after taking the test

1. The guide
2. The manual from the mgmtplaza
3. both open assessment (psm and developer)

I want to encourage anyone who has doubt about their own knowledge and experience and is hesitating whether to go down the self study path.

Good luck to all.

HI James,

Thanks very much for the info , especially regarding testtakers ... I must admit , I failed at my first PMS I assessment by 2.5% , had 12 minutes remaining and wanted to go back to check some answers - but had adjusted the font size and couldn't see any "go back to bookmarked" questions ... so assumed it would be on the next page when i finished. Scrum.Org offered me at a small discount on a rewrite , but it still is a chunk of change with the currency exchange rate ...

the testtakers site really got me rattled , scoring ridiculously low on their tests ... Even the CSM demo i barely passed and i've been doing Scrum for years now and have read numerous books on all types of agile and I know my subject down cold.

First time I skimmed through the Scrum Guide (been studying it in detail for more than two weeks) ... so i know i've got that covered, can hit just under 100% on the open assessment but will definitely do the PSD open now until i get a 100% on that too ...

Going to absorb the "The Scrum Training Guide in Detail"

I found some audio book versions of the Scrum Guide , but they seemed very outdated , I also wouldn't recommend the Pluralsight Scrum Fundamentals as a prep for the assessments ...

G.
