About your instructor
Steve Porter is an agile mentor/coach/trainer with a broad background in multiple management styles and practices. Over the past several years, he has focused his efforts on agile frameworks with a focus on Kanban and Scrum.
Over a decades-long career in IT, Steve has handled most application development roles, including developer, project manager, Scrum Master, and Product Owner. He was an early adopter of agile practices having seen first-hand how they helped avoid the many pitfalls that can lead to projects going sideways.
In his role at Scrum.org, Steve collaborates with Professional Scrum Trainers around the globe to fulfil the mission to help people and teams solve complex problems. He participates in creating Scrum.org training material and assessments and supports the Scrum.org trainer community. Steve recently contributed to Daniel Vacanti and John Coleman's Kanban Guide and co-authored the Kanban Guide for Scrum Teams and the Nexus Guide, a framework for scaling Scrum.
Professional Scrum Certification
When you complete the Applying Professional Scrum course, you will receive a password to attempt the Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) assessment. The industry-recognized PSM I certification requires a minimum passing score of 85%. If you attempt the PSM I assessment within 14 days of receiving your free password and do not score at least 85%, you will get a second free attempt.
You are also entitled to a discount on the PSM II assessment once passing PSM I.
