Applying Professional Scrum
Live Virtual Class, December 7-8, 2023
Class Overview
Course Description
This two-day course is widely regarded as the industry standard class to learn how to leverage Professional Scrum. You will learn the underpinning Scrum theory and how to apply it in real scenarios through engaging activities facilitated by our trainer. Fundamentally, you will take away the knowledge and skills to help your teams excel at Product delivery.
Don't take this class if you're looking to sit back and relax for two days. The APS course and associated assessment is tough, but we'll prepare you well. You can expect to be an active participant and to leave each day feeling tired but excited about what lies ahead for your practice. This class is not a single trainer lecturing you via a remote call - it's an immersive experience focused on activity-based learning.
Scrum.org selects only the most qualified instructors to deliver this course. The curriculum and learning objectives are standardised to assure consistency and quality for students worldwide.
Throughout this class, you will learn why and how Scrum is used to deliver products in complex environments. Converse to popular thinking, Scrum is not just for software delivery- it can and is being leveraged for physical and service products too.
This class is perfect to bring all of your Scrum Team together. The learning outcomes include topics for all three accountabilities. If you would like to bring 3 or more people along, please contact us directly for a discount.

Who should attend?
The primary audience for this class is Scrum Masters, Team Leaders, Managers, Product Owners, Developers, or anyone interested in how Scrum Teams develop products and deliver value. Ideally, it is for the whole Scrum Team to experience together, rather than a single member. The learning in this class is designed to be experiential so that a team can experience the benefits of Scrum, together.
The Applying Professional Scrum course is the perfect introduction, reboot or refresher to Scrum. It is excellent training for organisations, teams, and individuals wanting to experience the benefits of Scrum, or for those interested in continuing their learning with more advanced training.
- Professionals who are part of a team that currently uses Scrum, but desire a refresher so that they get the most out of their use of Scrum.
- Professionals who are joining a team that currently uses Scrum.
- Professionals that don’t use Scrum directly but want to learn how to work with colleagues that do use Scrum.
- Professionals that are investigating to see if Scrum makes sense for them and their colleagues.

- Teams who are learning to use Scrum together in their organisations.
- The course also provides the foundational Scrum knowledge needed for those wishing to continue their education with role-focused (Scrum Master, Product Owner, Developer, Leader) training classes. APS is not recommended for advanced Scrum professionals.
This course is designed to be domain-agnostic; it conveys the use of Scrum in any domain or industry with complex problems to solve. Trainers typically have experience in multiple industries and may be able to tailor the course to the needs of your team. Students and teams building software products may want to consider our domain-specific course: Applying Professional Scrum for Software Development.
There is no requirement for any knowledge of product or software delivery prior to participating, nor any experience of being in a Scrum Team.
