Applying Professional Scrum

London, September 15-16, 2018

Class Overview

Professional Scrum Foundations (PSF) is a 2-day class that delivers the foundational knowledge needed to be successful with Scrum, the most popular agile software development framework. The Scrum.org designed class is highly practical, with a combination of instruction and team-based exercises,  where students experience how the Scrum framework improves product development efforts through building “done” software (not Lego or paper prototypes).

Thousands of people worldwide have taken this course and found it to be the best way to learn Scrum. After the class, students are eligible for the PSM I assessment. If you pass the assessment, you will gain the industry recognised PSM I certification. This certification will NEVER expire, and make you part of an elite community of 60,000+ PSM I badge holders.

Course Objectives

Over the 2 days, students are introduced to the mechanics of Scrum, gaining insights into overcoming complexity, dealing with team-based collaboration and self-organization as essential elements in mastering Scrum.

Students work together as a team in a series of Sprints to build a software application, thereby facing real-life problems. The mechanics, roles, and principles of Scrum are used during the exercises. From its emphasis on the practical application of Scrum, the course exposes common missteps and misunderstandings so students grow a higher awareness of the associated symptoms. The course provides prescriptive guidance to avoid going off track and keeping Scrum healthy.

Students of Scrum.org courses are able to claim Project Management Institute (PMI) PDU credit: 14 PDUs after attending the two-day Professional Scrum Foundations (PSF). Please note that PMI PDUs are earned for course attendance and not for passing a Scrum.org assessment. Students can claim PDUs under PMI’s "Education courses provided by other third-party providers” category. You can claim your PDUs online at https://ccrs.pmi.org.
