Professional Scrum Master (PSM) is the cutting-edge course for Scrum Masters and any leader supporting a product team's effectiveness. This course covers the Scrum basics, including the principles and theory underpinning the mechanics, rules, and roles of the Scrum framework. Based on these foundational insights, you will learn how to use Scrum to optimize value, productivity, and the total cost of ownership of products. In addition, advanced thinking tools are introduced to support servant-leadership and behavioral shifts, working with people and teams, coaching and facilitation, and addressing the organization.

You will learn through interactive instruction and team-based exercises and will be challenged to think in terms of the Scrum principles to understand better how to apply them to benefit your organization, teams, and products.

This highly interactive class is delivered virtually over four half-day sessions, which our students love! Our half-day sessions allow you to balance the course with your work, while enabling high focus and deep learning during class time.

Why do I offer a 4 day class?

  • Time for students to catch up on work before and after class
  • Reduces "Zoom fatigue"
  • Allows additional time for discussion around real-world examples

Four Day Part-Time Course

What is the difference between a two-day full-time class (whether in-person or virtual) and a four-day part-time class?

I cover ALL the same materials, and the class is consistent with the high-quality standards set by Scrum.org. Because the class is delivered virtually, many students appreciate the shorter days. At the end of the four days you receive:

  • The same high-quality content;
  • A manageable schedule that creates higher engagement and learning for you;
  • An opportunity to accommodate other commitments you might have at home or at work;

Zoom and Mural will be used to facilitate the activities. You'll receive a wealth of materials and dozens of techniques you can take back and use with your Scrum Teams right away to be an effective Scrum Master.

Learn Scrum From Those Who Created and Maintain It

Professional Scrum Master (PSM) is a course that covers the principles and (empirical) process theory underpinning the Scrum framework, and the role of the Scrum Master in it. This course is a combination of instruction and team-based exercises, and teaches what is at the heart of the Scrum and Agile movement. The course also includes two free attempts at the globally recognized Professional Scrum Master I certification exam (PSM I).

What You Will Learn

Students will see why PSM is the cutting-edge course for effective Scrum Masters and for anyone coaching a team toward increased efficiency and effectiveness. The course includes advanced thinking for servant-leadership and behavioral shifts.

Throughout the course, students are challenged to think in terms of the Scrum principles to better understand what to do when returning to the workplace.

The PSM course is much more than just a set of slides and an instructor. In this course, students work on real-life cases with other classmates together as a team. This course is made up of discussions and hands-on exercises based upon real-life cases.

What's Included:

  • Four intense days (4 hours) of experiential learning.
  • Up to 2 free attempt to earn your PSM I certification
  • If you attempt the PSM I assessment within 14 days and do not score at least 85%, you will be granted a 2nd attempt at no additional cost.
  • Access to full digital slide deck, workbook and complementary materials used during the course
  • 40% discount on an attempt to earn your PSM II certification.

Due to COVID-19, This Class Will Be Held Virtually

To help support students and their organizations during the COVID-19 pandemic, Scrum.org has adapted it's In Person method of course delivery to offer classes remotely with live Professional Scrum Trainers and a Virtual Classroom. The content and interactions have been thoughtfully redesigned to give you the best online learning experience.

Prior to class, registered students will receive guidance to prepare for and participate in our PSM class remotely. If you have any questions or if we can provide any assistance, please contact us at askagilemaestro@gmail.com

Your Trainer

Scrum.org maintains a defined curriculum for the Professional Scrum courses and selects only the most qualified instructors to deliver them. Each Professional Scrum Trainer is a practitioner and brings their experiences and areas of expertise to bear, but all students learn the same core course content. This consistency and quality helps students effectively apply Scrum in their organizations.
