About the Trainer:

Ian MitchellIan Mitchell's experience in iterative and incremental delivery began with a PhD in object-oriented rapid prototyping in 1997. He then worked as a developer for several years where he witnessed the failure of many initiatives that were allegedly implementing Scrum. He realized that his true vocation was to help teams and organizations to better understand agile practice. Dr. Mitchell has a particular focus on evidence-based enterprise transformation and is the curator of a related site, agilepatterns.org. A Scrum advocate and accredited Professional Scrum Trainer, he is a veteran member of the scrum.org forums.

He is the author of "Agile Development in Practice" (Tamare House, 2016. ISBN 978-1-908552-49-5). As a keen agile coach, he's previously worked at Indigo Blue and TCS, contracted as a Scrum Master for the Scottish Government in support of their agile initiative, and worked as a Scrum Master and Agile Coach at the Open University. He's also been an Agile Coach at Travis Perkins, and a Scrum Master at the NHS Information Centre. Before then he scaled a Lean-Kanban operation into a Scrum at O2 Telefonica.
