Professional Scrum Product Owner - Advanced

Product ownership has many facets. In order to successfully discover, develop, launch and maintain products and services, it is essential to master them all.

In this two-day Professional Scrum Product Owner - Advanced (PSPO-A) class you will learn how you, as a Product Owner, can cover all facets from the idea to the delivery of a successful product. Together we will examine how you manage to live up to your accountability as a Product Owner and maximize the value of your product.

The class includes up to two free attempts at the globally recognized certification exam Professional Scrum Product Owner II  (PSPO II).

Who else is this training suitable for?

This training has been specifically designed for advanced Product Owners and experienced Product Managers, as well as for all advanced agile practitioners who are responsible for the success of a product in the market.

If you want to take a big step in your professional development as a product owner and to acquire one of the coveted certifications (PSPO II), then this training is the right one for you.

You don't need any previous knowledge in software development, what you need is: 

• Practical knowledge of Scrum and ideally have at least one year of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager
• PSPO-I certification is recommended, but not mandatory
• You should be interested in practical and action-oriented learning, as we will work through the content together using a series of exercises and an extensive case study

The following diagram shows typical maturity levels of Product Owners. The further to the right, Product Owners are, the more effectively they can maximize value.

You learn specifically how to move further to the right. Successful product ownership is challenging. To master it, it is essential to adopt different stances. You will learn these stances in the courses:

• Customer Representative 
  Focus on understanding the problems, challenges and possible solutions from a customer's perspective
   
• Visionary
  Communicate the product vision, and opportunities in a way that encourages a shared understanding and inspire everyone 
   
• Experimenter
  Focus on innovation, testing hypotheses and validating value to fuel product innovation
   
• Influencer
  Communicating with and influencing stakeholders, customers and the Scrum Team in order to achieve a common goal
   
• Collaborator
  The focus here is on finding new ideas, contributions and feedback from others, in particular structures outside of Scrum Team(s) which may block the agility of Scrum Team(s)
   
• Decision Maker 
  The focus is on the maximum impact of your own actions by making well informed decisions

In addition to the different stances and how you can use them in a goal-oriented manner, you will learn many modern product management practices, techniques, tools and real-world examples on how you as a Product Owner can work effectively to create products that customers love.

• Zoom for video-conferencing with breakout rooms for working in small teams

Students receive all materials after class including their newly created whiteboards to allow for an effective recap.
