PRODUCT OWNER ASSESSMENT AND CERTIFICATION
The PSPO training is comparable with the CSPO (Certified Scrum Product Owner) training. After successful completion of the online assessment, you will receive the official PSPO certificate from Scrum.org. Beware, the examination must be completed within two weeks after the training.
DEFINITION OF SCRUM
Scrum is a management and control process that cuts through complexity to focus on building software that meets business needs. Management and teams can get their hands around the requirements and technologies, never let go, and deliver working software, incrementally and empirically. It is a simple framework for effective team collaboration on complex software projects.
FOCUS OF THE PRODUCT OWNER TRAINING
The Professional Scrum Product Owner training (PSPO) is a two-day class in which we focus on the position and responsibilities of the Product Owner and the challenges faced when using Scrum. During the class we cover these topics (and more!):
Agile Product Management: what it entails to be a Product Owner.
Value-driven Development: how to empirically measure value and the effectiveness of what you develop.
The Scrum Framework: the mechanics and meanings of the Scrum framework.
Product Backlog Management: how to manage the Product Backlog, ensure its transparency and make more effective decisions as to its ordering.
Release Management: release strategies and common pitfalls.
After following this class you will be able to pick up the role of Product Owner or execute it more effectively.
PREPARATION OF THE PRODUCT OWNER TRAINING
Reading the “Scrum Guide” in advance will provide you with the basic knowledge of Scrum, this kick-start prepares you for any Agile training we offer. Being open-minded and being passionate about new ideas is the best preparation you can have. After completing the training, you will receive references to source material for more and in-depth information about the trainings subjects.
PRODUCT OWNER CERTIFICATION ASSESSMENT
Once you have completed the class you will receive an assessment key from Scrum.org. This key enables you to take the PSPO I assessment. You can take this assessment online, anywhere, anytime as the assessment key is valid indefinitely. However, in our experience it is best to take the assessment within two weeks after having attended the class as it increases the chance of passing. If you take the assessment within two weeks and do not pass, you even get a free retake. Nothing will stop you from becoming PSPO I certified!
