Professional Scrum Product Owner

Portland, October 24-25, 2017

Class Overview

Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) is a 2-day course that provides the foundational knowledge needed to work with Scrum in a highly practical way. The course is a combination of instruction and team-based exercises where students experience how the Scrum framework improves product development efforts.

Over the 2 days, students will develop and solidify their knowledge of being a Product Owner through instruction and team-based exercises. The breadth of the role’s responsibilities in delivering a successful product will become more clear from an Agile perspective. Metrics are identified to track the creation of value and the successful delivery of the product to the marketplace.

The PSPO course is much more than just a set of slides and an instructor. In this course, students work on real-life cases with other classmates together as a team. This course is made up of discussions and hands-on exercises

Scrum.org selects only the most qualified instructors to deliver this course. Each instructor lends his or her individual experience and expertise to the course, but all students learn the same core content. This improves their ability to pass the Professional Scrum Master assessments and use Scrum in the workplace.

*Special Discount Opportunity* If you would like to attend both this PSPO course 7/20-7/21 and the PSM course scheduled 7/18-7/19, you receive a 25% discount when you purchase both courses.

More Information

Audience

While the PSPO course may be beneficial to all involved in software development using the Scrum framework, it has been specifically conceived for those responsible for products from a business and product management perspective and taking up the highly accountable role of Scrum Product Owner. No pre-existing knowledge of Scrum is required to attend.

Assessment and Certification

Unlike other Scrum certifications that require only class attendance, Scrum.org certification requires a minimum score on a rigorous assessment. The Professional Scrum Product Owner course has two associated assessments with two levels of certification: PSPO I and PSPO II. When you complete a Professional Scrum Product Owner course you will receive a password to take the PSPO I assessment for free. If you pass this assessment you will receive the industry-recognized PSPO I certification and your name will be posted on the Scrum.org website.

Stephanie offers a complimentary assessment preparation call after the course.  This is most useful for students who study and would like to clarify concepts and challenging questions before they take the assessment.
