I have a basic question on DoD to get more clarity

  • DoD is for sprint increment  not for each stories in sprint
  • Sprint Increment will be known only in Sprint planning after looking at the stories that can be done in sprint
  • Scrum says in Sprint retro we will revise the DoD ?

I need clarity here.

  • Is it not DoD for the increment will evolve in Sprint planning by Dev team(s) ?

The Scrum Guide says that, during Sprint Planning:

”Having set the Sprint Goal and selected the Product Backlog items for the Sprint, the Development Team decides how it will build this functionality into a "Done" product Increment during the Sprint.”

Please refer back to the Scrum Guide, there is no Sprint Increment.  Read through the product Increment section.  The Increment is the sum of what the Development Team builds this Sprint plus all past Sprints.
