This 2-day Professional Scrum Master (PSM) course covers the principles and (empirical) process theory underpinning the Scrum framework, and the role of the Scrum Master in it. This course is a combination of instruction and team-based exercises, and teaches what is at the heart of the Scrum and Agile movement.

The Professional Scrum Master course is the cutting-edge course for effective Scrum Masters and for anyone coaching a software development team toward increased efficiency and effectiveness. The course includes advanced thinking for servant-leadership and behavioral shifts.

Throughout the course, students are challenged to think in terms of the Scrum principles to better understand what to do when returning to the workplace.

The PSM course is much more than just a set of slides and an instructor. In this course, students work on real-life cases with other classmates together as a team. This course is made up of discussions and hands-on exercises.
 

Who Should Attend:
The Professional Scrum Master course is for anyone involved in software development using the Scrum framework. It is particularly beneficial for those people within an organisation accountable for getting the most out of Scrum, including Scrum Masters, managers, and Scrum Team members. No pre-existing knowledge of Scrum is required to attend.

Certification & Assessments:

All participants completing the Professional Scrum Master course will receive a password to attempt the Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) assessment. PSM class participants who attempt the PSM I assessment within 14 days of receiving their free password and do not score at least 85% will be granted a 2nd attempt at no additional cost.

You are also entitled to a 40% discount on the PSM II assessment once passing PSM I. The industry-recognized PSM certifications require a minimum passing score.

What is included in the price?

The price includes two days of training with Andy which includes course materials and the opportunity to take the PSM I assessment and certification after the course.

As well as the photos of the class drawings and the course handbook, you will also receive a book related to the subject chosen by Andy personally.

Lunch on both days will also be provided, the venue will provide water and teas and coffees in the room also.

About the trainer:

Profile

Andy Hiles will be teaching this course.

Andy is a highly experienced process coach, agile practitioner, and a Professional Scrum Trainer with Scrum.org.

Through working with Agile in both the private and public sector, he has developed a deep understanding of the challenges around organisational complexity and the impact on delivery teams and behaviour.

Andy is certified by Scrum.org in Professional Scrum Master, Professional Scrum with Kanban and by the Lean Kanban University for its KMP 1&2 certificates. In addition Andy is currently transforming a Scrum at scale product delivery unit into a scaled Scrum with Kanban delivery organisation.

How do I achieve the Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) certification?
The PSM I certification is achieved by taking and passing an online assessment in your own time following the course. It can be taken from any internet connected computer.

What is required to achieve the Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) certification?
The PSM I assessment is comprised of 80 multiple choice questions that must be completed in 60 minutes. The pass mark is 85%.

PSM class participants who attempt the PSM I assessment within 14 days of receiving their free password and do not score at least 85% will be granted a 2nd attempt at no additional cost.

What are the course hours?
Courses start at 09:00 and finish at 17:00 each day.

How many people will attend?
Andy's courses are capped at around 10 attendees to ensure a premium experience.

How should I prepare for the course?
The only preparation required is to read the Scrum Guide.
