How effective are your Scrum Events?!
Recently, I put a good amount of energy into creating a comprehensive playbook on how to leverage AI to enhance the following Scrum Events:
- Sprint Planning
- Daily Scrum
- Sprint Review
- Sprint Retrospective
Along the way of creating the playbook, I got a lot of lessons learned:
1- Preparation for each event is the key. The more prepared you are for the event, the more effective your event will be. And AI can give you a huge help with preparation.
2- For each event, we should think of three stages: Before, During, and After the event. So, don't stick to just what happens inside the event. Before and After the event are truly important.
3- Don't see AI as a tool; it is your intelligent assistant and a thinking partner.
4- Don't harsh when you want to leverage AI to enhance your Scrum Events. Start small and expand it based on your learnings. For example, you can start by leveraging AI for your Daily Scrum. When you are ok with it, then go to the next Event.
5- Don't forget: Scrum Events are formal opportunities for inspection and adaptation. So, human collaboration is key. Don't replace the collaboration with what AI says. AI just gives you inputs, and you are the one who finalizes the work with real collaboration.
