How do you enter a lengthy prompt to an AI system that you use regularly? Do you type the whole text each time?
Imagine every Sprint you should create a Sprint Goal, and you leverage AI to do it. Its prompt is generally lengthy. In this case, you can use a prompt management service to manage it. Especially if you have dynamic variables in the prompt.
In this blog, I introduce a simple but powerful free tool named Open Prompt Manager.
It is an extension for the Google Chrome browser and Open Source Prompt Manager for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, NotebookLM, Deepseek, Grok, and more.
When you open your LLM like ChatGPT, you will see an icon in the bottom-right corner, making Open Prompt Manager available.
In the Open Prompt Manager, you can add all your reuable Prompts that you use regularly, specifically the lengthy ones, to create your own Prompt library. It saves you a lot of time. See my reusable prompts:
The good news is that you just need to add your prompt to the Open Prompt Manager once. Then all your prompts are available in all other LLM tools. In fact, it is shared among all LLMs.
Here is an example prompt to create a Sprint Goal:

We use [Sprint duration like two-week] Sprints to build [Your Product]. The current Product Goal is to [Your current Product Goal]. This is the [Sprint number like first] Sprint of the current Product Goal. So, break down the current Product Goal into smaller short-term goals and use them as the base to create a Sprint Goal for the [Sprint number] Sprint aligned with the current Product Goal through the FOCUS model as follows:
Fun: come up with a memorable title and try to inject an element of fun.
Outcome-oriented: The goal should achieve a common understanding of what you are trying to accomplish.
Collaborative: The whole Scrum Team creates the Sprint Goal together.
Ultimate: The Sprint Goal should include a why, the ultimate reason behind what we are trying to achieve.
Singular: The Sprint Goal should consist of a single common objective instead of multiple competing objectives.

In this prompt, we have 4 variables:
1- Sprint Duration
2- Your Product
3- Your Current Product Goal
4- Sprint Number
You can add these variables to your prompt with the # symbol, like #SprintDuration#. Then, when you add the prompt to an AI system like ChatGPT, the Open Prompt Manager first asks you to fill in those variables and then adds the prompt. See this picture.
