Scrum Framework Visualized, Details Matter

May 20, 2025

The Scrum Framework is simple, yet many misconceptions exist about applying Professional Scrum. We often notice cheat sheets and Scrum Frameworks that do not match the Professional Scrum Standards. That is why we have decided to change our Scrum Framework poster and align it to Professional Scrum and what we teach in our classes.

This poster highlights a few critical aspects:

  • Self-Management in the Daily Scrum by Developers
  • Stakeholders are inspecting increments
  • The Scrum Team is self-managing their Sprint Retrospective (not the Scrum Master leading it)
  • Everything with the Product Goal and the Sprint Goal as a focus
  • Focus on Value Creation
  • Focus on Quality by adhering to the Definition of Done.

As with all our games and posters, our CC licence allows you to edit and change to match your company or clients' look and feel. Unlike other CC licences, our material can be used commercially. This means you can also use it in your training. You only need to provide the correct credit.

Please let us know your thoughts about this, and if you want anything to be changed in version 2. We will add this poster to our GitHub page soon as well. www.github.com/scrumfacilitators

Great picture. I am a big fan of visualization in product development in general. And I like your sketchnote very much indeed.
In particular, I love that you make the product goal, sprint goal and DoD a central part of the picture. What about drawing these commitments even a little larger? I also love that you visualize all accountabilities in all events, making clear that everything is a collaborative effort. And for the daily where your visualization clearly shows that product owner and scrum master do not have to be there.
Also, your picture makes very clear that the increments are DONE (and packaged) based on the DoD *before* the review.

The only thing that I would drop are the crowns on the users heads. I would suggest to see them as "primi inter pares", not as kings and queens. They pay the bill but they also need to listen if the scrum team has ideas.
