STOP! Using parent as an analogy to describe the Scrum Master
Hello awesome people. I hope you had a great holiday break and are ready for 2022. Just before the holiday break, I overheard some people in the agile community use parent as analogy to describe the Scrum Master. Some people use analogy to describe something that is uncommon or relatively new in the society. However, using parent as analogy to describe the Scrum Master is a bad choice as from my observation in the company I have worked with, it created unintended behaviour & misperception from the Scrum Master, the Developers, the Product Owner, the management, the business users ... well basically everyone in the company, really. And on a larger scale, it damages our industry. Through this video, I am making a plea to all of us to stop using parent as analogy to describe the Scrum Master. Thank folks.
