Effective Stakeholder Collaboration for Scrum Teams

BOSTON - January 29, 2026 -  Today, Scrum.org, the Home of Scrum, announced that it has added a new self-paced training course - Effective Stakeholder Collaboration for Scrum Teams - to its platform. This course was built together with Professional Scrum Trainers, Glaudia Califano and David Spinks of Red Tangerine, and is endorsed by Scrum.org. Students will learn how to effectively collaborate with stakeholders of all kinds.

The course is intended for Scrum Team members including Scrum Masters, Product Owners and Developers as well as anyone interested in developing their collaboration skills. Throughout the course students take part in interactive activities, reading, watching videos and quizzes while learning from real-world scenarios.

In product development, success often depends on how people collaborate with those outside of the Scrum Team in shaping a product vision, priorities and outcomes. Effective Stakeholder Collaboration for Scrum Teams focuses on the skills, mindsets and techniques needed for Scrum Teams to build trust, alignment and shared ownership with all types of stakeholders. With a focus on real-world situations, there are many interactive exercises that allow students to practice stakeholder collaboration strategies throughout the course.

“There are a lot of courses available that focus on the accountabilities of the Scrum Master, Product Owner and Developers, yet there is little guidance on how the people fulfilling these accountabilities effectively collaborate with stakeholders. We designed this course to fill this gap and to reflect the reality Scrum Teams face every day. This includes conflicting priorities, unclear expectations, and complex human dynamics.”
- Glaudia Califano and David Spinks, co-creators of Effective Stakeholder Collaboration for Scrum Teams

In the course, students are guided through practical techniques for identifying and segmenting stakeholders. They learn to understand behaviors, motivations and communication styles, and how to adapt their collaboration strategies to different contexts and levels of complexity. The course places a strong emphasis on empathy-driven practices to uncover needs, goals and pain points that are often missed when teams focus only on stated product requirements.

“Achieving effective stakeholder collaboration is a common challenge that Scrum Teams face every day. Building relationships and communicating with key stakeholders is crucial and this new course teaches some very effective ways to build trust as a way to foster that much needed collaboration. We are very excited to endorse this new course and add it to our platform of self-paced training courses. We are looking forward to releasing more endorsed courses in the near future.”
- Dave West, CEO, Scrum.org

Scrum.org endorsed training courses are developed by Agile experts who work with the Scrum.org team to create engaging, self-paced learning experiences designed to help students build real-world skills and confidence. The course materials are all reviewed, updated and approved by Scrum.org and its instructional designers to ensure a high quality learning experience.

Effective Stakeholder Collaboration for Scrum Teams is taken online allowing students to proceed at their own pace. There is no time restriction so it can be taken all at once or over a period of days, weeks, or months, depending on what suits the student’s availability and needs. The course, which takes approximately five hours to complete, is now available on the Scrum.org website and students will receive a certificate of completion once they finish the course.
