PSPO II to PSPO III Migration Information

Migration of Professional Scrum Product Owner II (PSPO II) to Professional Scrum Product Owner III (PSPO III)*

Prior to November 18, 2019 Scrum.org offered only a Professional Scrum Product Owner I (PSPO I) and a Professional Scrum Product Owner II (PSPO II) assessment and certification. In November of 2019 Scrum.org introduced a NEW PSPO II assessment. This new assessment is an advanced level assessment, but not as difficult as the PSPO II that was available prior to November 2019. The NEW PSPO II is a multiple-choice assessment, while the former PSPO II was an expert level assessment which was largely essay-based.

All PSPO II certificate holders have been awarded a PSPO III certificate replacing the PSPO II certificate earned previously.

What action is required?

There is no action required. If you earned a PSPO II prior to November 18, 2019, you will now see a badge and certificate for PSPO III in your profile at Scrum.org.

PSPO II certificate holders were contacted via the email we had on file and offered a complimentary attempt at the new PSPO II.  If for some reason you did not receive the email please contact support@scrum.org and we will look into the matter.

*This note only applies to individuals that passed the Professional Scrum Product Owner II (PSPO II) Assessment prior to November 18, 2019
