Professional Scrum Product Owner – AI Essentials (PSPO‑AI Essentials) is an interactive, hands‑on one‑day course created by Scrum.org. It equips Product Owners, Product Managers, Business Analysts and agile leaders with the understanding and tools to apply Artificial Intelligence effectively across their everyday roles. The course includes one free attempt at the PSPO‑AI Essentials certification exam (minimum 85% pass mark), with a free second attempt if taken within 14 days of the first attempt. 

Learning Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

• Describe what AI is and how it supports modern product development.
• Explain key concepts such as machine learning, deep learning, generative AI and agentic AI.
• Illustrate real‑world use cases where AI enhances Product Ownership.
• Use generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Synthesia) to support product work.
• Embed AI tools and practices into daily Product Ownership activities.
• Recognise and embed ethical and secure AI practices when adopting AI.
• Demonstrate AI‑informed behaviours as an AI‑literate Product Owner. 

Course Overview

This one‑day course delivers a mix of brief theory blocks, interactive exercises, group discussions and real‑world case studies. 

Participants explore how AI can enhance each of the Product Owner’s preferred stances—such as Visionary, Experimenter, Decision Maker and Collaborator—and a new stance introduced: the Orchestrator, focusing on workflow automation and time leverage. 

Security and ethical implications of AI adoption are covered in a dedicated segment.
