In 2020, the word “Role” was replaced with “Accountability” in the Scrum Guide. This makes it crystal clear that the “Scrum Master” accountability is not a role and it is certainly not a job title. Specifically who takes on that accountability is completely up to you.
So if that's true, could the team's Manager take on the Scrum Master accountability?
