Dispelling Common Scrum Myths and Misconceptions

In this Scrum Tapas video, Professional Scrum Trainer Ram Srinivasan takes a look at 8 common myths and misconceptions from people about Scrum discussing why they are not true and what it really means.  The myths and misconceptions discussed include:

  • Scrum Teams must be co-located
  • Each Development Team member must have all of the skills required to build the product
  • One person cannot play the part of multiple roles in Scrum
  • Development Team members have to be dedicated to the Development Team
  • User stories are a part of Scrum
  • Burndown charts are mandatory in Scrum
  • The Product Owner must write all Product Backlog Items
  • Each Development Team has its own Product Backlog
