Using Google Translate in Chrome to Take Assessments

Many of our assessment takers successfully use Google Translate with Google Chrome to take the test in their preferred language. Here are some directions to help you:

Turning on Google Translate in Chrome before you take a test:

You need to turn on Google Translate in Chrome using the following steps. (Please note that you should NOT install the Google Translate extension or plug-in - this capability is built into Chrome)

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More and then Settings.
  3. On the left, click Languages.
  4. You can add additional preferred languages which become available when you start translation later on. (Spanish is used only as an example here)

  1. Under “Google Translate” turn Use Google Translate ON.

Enabling translation when you start the test:

  1. Go to the Start Page for your assessment on Scrum.org.  A link is contained in your password e-mail or you can navigate to the assessment from here.
  2. Enter your assessment passcode and click "Start".
  3. You will see the start page of the assessment with a summary of the number of questions, the time limit, and other details.
  4. Very important: You need to enable Google Translate at this step before you proceed to the first question.
  5. Select the More menu then select Translate
  6. Choose your preferred language.

  1. You should now see the instructions translated to your preferred language.
  2. Proceed through the remaining instructions and to the first question where Google Translate will remain active during the duration of your test.
  3. Complete the test.
