Class Overview

Professional Scrum Developer (PSD) is an immersive 3-day hands-on course where you experience how to deliver quality software using Scrum with Agile and DevOps practices.

Students work in Scrum Teams and collaborate over a series of Sprints in which they develop a realistic software system and use the Scrum framework to cope with changes. They learn how to apply modern engineering practices to develop increments of potentially releasable functionality from a live Product Backlog. Throughout the course, students experience real-world challenges and issues and learn how to handle them by continuously improving as a Scrum Team.

The course includes a free attempt at the globally recognized Professional Scrum Developer certification exam (PSD).

Take the opportunity to participate in the 1st PSD course taught in Croatian (discussion can be held in English as well).

This course can be combined with the preceding Professional Scrum Foundations (PSF) course that takes place on September 24-25 at the same venue (discounts apply when taking both courses).

Description

This immersive 3-day hands-on course shows how Professional Scrum Development Teams can continuously produce high quality software that works and meets customer expectations. It teaches you how to apply the Scrum framework to the way a team works while collaboratively dealing with every day challenges in software development. It demonstrates how modern DevOps engineering tools and practices can be leveraged in order to develop increments of potentially releasable functionality from a live Product Backlog. 

Throughout the course, you will work in a Scrum Team and concurrently do requirements engineering, design, development, testing, integration and deployment within each Sprint. You can expect to experience real-world challenges and issues and learn how to handle them by continuously improving as a Scrum Team.

The course is delivered using .NET specific technologies and Microsoft Visual Studio Team Services.

Prerequisites

You should be familiar with Scrum. Please study the Scrum Guide even if you are already working in a Scrum Team (since it was last updated in November 2017). In case you do not have any exposure to Scrum, taking a Professional Scrum Foundations (PSF) course prior to this course is advised (one PSF precedes this course on September 24-25 at the same venue).

Additionally, you will make the most out of this course if you familiarize yourself with PSD Subject Areas and take the Scrum Open and Scrum Developer Open free online assessments.

This is a hands-on course, so please bring your own laptop.
