A Real Project with Scrum

Professional Scrum Product Owner™ (PSPO) is a hands-on, activity-based course where students explore how Product Ownership is crucial to the success of a product. Throughout the class, students learn a number of practices that they can use once they leave the classroom.

Students will learn how Professional Scrum helps them to move from a project mindset to a product mindset.  At the end of the class, students will understand how the shift in mindset and new practices can be put into action with Agile Product Management.

The course also includes a free attempt at the globally recognized Professional Scrum Product Owner I (PSPO I) certification exam.

Course Overview

There are many myths and misconceptions about the role of the Product Owner. The accountabilities of the Product Owner, however, go well beyond managing the Product Backlog and writing User Stories. The Product Owner is pivotal to bridging business strategy and product execution in order to help the organization create valuable products.

In this two-day class, students will develop and solidify their knowledge of the Scrum framework and the accountabilities of being a Product Owner through instruction and team-based exercises. Students learn techniques that they can use to help them overcome the challenges that are often encountered on a day-to-day basis. They will do this while learning better ways to collaborate and engage with the users and customers, stakeholders, their team(s) and organization to provide greater value in the product being delivered.

Course Learning Outcomes

When a student leaves the classroom, they will have improved skills to impact their products and organizations by:

  • Improving value created by staying focused on value and outcomes
  • Increasing organizational learning, validating sooner rather than later, which will also reduce costs
  • Achieving better business outcomes by aligning initiatives with business strategy through shared vision and aligning people toward clear goals
  • Increasing business agility by being data-informed and empirical

Course Learning Objectives

  • Understand that Product Ownership includes Product Management performed with an Agile mindset
  • Recognize the value of a product over project mindset

16- My company pays the class fee, but they pay it later. Is it possible to get the invoice and send it to my company to process and pay it?
For most of my clients, their companies pay the fee, and they usually have their internal financial process, which needs some time to process and pay the invoice. It is well-understood and natural. You have two options:
1- Send us an email to support@scrumschool.org with all the information of your company. We create and send you the invoice. Then you can forward it to your company to start processing it.
2- At the end of the booking process on our website, choose the “Book and pay later via an invoice” option. By doing this, you reserve your seat and receive the invoice automatically. Then you can send it to your company to start processing it.

17- Is it possible to have a direct chat with you if I have questions?
Absolutely. You can book a free video call with me on Calendly to ask all your questions and then register for the course. Or you can send an email to support@scrumschool.org.

18- What tools do you use to run the class?
We use Zoom and Miro to run the online class. On Miro, we use a unique structure for the content.
