Hi All,

I have read the nexus guide  and i am confused on how product backlog item selection happens in scaled scrum after attempting a question from MP Plaza. There is a line in the nexus guide which states "The Product Owner provides domain knowledge and guides selection and priority decisions". The options in the question were :-

  1. Each development team pulls in backlog items in agreement with product owner.
  2. Development teams provide their capacity to product owner and based on their capacity PO selects and provides appropriate items to the development teams.
  3. Product owner provides each team with a set of items.
  4. Items are provided to the team randomly.

In my opinion, option-1 sounded appropriate. Then i read the nexus guide and line in nexus guide confused me and i think the option is 2. Any kind of guidance will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Beenish

Nexus is Scrum, and hence a good Nexus implementation will also be a good Scrum implementation.

If a Product Owner were to select items of work for a Development Team, would that be a good implementation of Scrum?
