Hi Folks,

I just completed my PSM 1 exam this Saturday. I am submitting my application for PST. Along with it, i have started preparing for PSM II exam.

I have read various threads on the forum about the preparation of PSM II, so i was looking forward for some advice around that.

  1. Many threads suggest to read books in the Scrum and PSPO subject areas. Is all these books necessary to be read or someone can recommend a few out of them?
  2. What other considerations and suggestions that can be provided along with it.

Thanks,

Beenish

Hi Beenish - I did well and missed one question on the PSM II, and found that experience was more helpful than reading books.  Since the PST requires a minimum of 4 years as a Scrum Master, you should do fine and may not need books.

I had read a few of the books recommended, and if I had to pick 2 it would be the Pocket Guide and Scrum Mastery for general Scrum.  It all depends on what you need to brush up on.  If it is coaching, Lyssa Adkins' book is the best.  If it is team building, you can't go wrong with the 5 Dysfunctions of a Team.

Make sure you study Nexus and do well on the SPS and PSPO open assessments. If you are weak on scaling Scrum, there is a new Nexus book out that looks good.

All the best!

Hi Chris,

I am an Agile consultant and have more then working experience as a Scrum master which is good :)

Though still i have bought Scrum Pocket Guide and Scrum Mastery.  SPS assessment is Nexus open

assessment, is it correct? I have experience with Scaling frameworks like SAFe but not specifically with Nexus.

Can you provide me the name of book which has come out on Nexus?

Looking forward to hear from you.

Thanks,

Beenish

Beenish - Yes Scaled Professional Scrum (SPS) is Nexus.  SAFe probably won't help a lot with Nexus.  Here is the book on Nexus:

Scrum on!
