Hello ALL,

I am not sure about these statements: 1) that is true the Product Owner can delegate some of his/her responsibilities to the Development Team. and 2) PO can't transfer some of his/her accountability to the Developers.

Could anyone please confirm this is correct and provide some clarification? Many thanks in advance

Aicha, you will find the answer to your question quite clearly explained in the Scrum Guide.

Aicha, those statements are correct. You probably need to check differences with English Dictionary if it is not your native language, perhaps semantics make it harder for you to distinguish the difference.

Responsibility is something that you can share, and more or less it is linked to tasks. Accountability is almost always linked to one person that has to be able to explain.. hmm.. results, i.e.:

PO can move the responsibility of managing the Product Backlog to the Development Team. However, PO is still accountable for results of that Product Backlog management, even if the PO doesn't manage it himself.
