Product Owner and Company
In the organization, every role in the scrum has an integral part. I would like to know how the Product Owner is appointed?
The organization identifies someone that they feel will do the role to the best benefit of the organization. It is someone that the organization will place their trust in to always do the right thing for the product in a way that will provide continuous value to the stakeholders which in turn will continuously provide value to the organization.
How the organization does that is entirely up to the organization to decide. The Scrum framework does not specify how those type of activities occur. Just as there is no mention of how a Scrum Master is selected. Scrum is a framework to enhance the organizations ability to continuously inspect and adapt to change while delivering incremental value. It isn't a process or even a procedure guide.

My advice is to think of it less as an appointment, and more as the candid recognition of a product and where its ownership is vested.
