PSM I-what are the meetings that external stakeholders are allowed to attend?

Hi,

While preparing for the PSM 1 exam, I was always confused about which meetings external stakeholders are allowed to attend. Actually, there are no strict rules in Scrum logic, but in other words, I see that what should be inside the scrum team should not be opened to the outside. External stakeholders can participate in the Sprint Review, but if necessary, participation in the Sprint planning event is also possible. In some questions, two activities are given. In this case, it would be correct to choose only the Sprint Review activity. What do you think?

You'd wonder why their participation would be helpful in that event:

  • In a Sprint Review external stakeholders could bring the latest business intelligence and market feedback, which may help when updating the Product Backlog.
  • In Sprint Planning, stakeholders might be consulted about the correct interpretation of aspects of work, even though they wouldn't give direction.
  • You'd wonder why stakeholders would need to be at other events. Those events have their own focus, and stakeholders have all the rest of the Sprint to make themselves available and to collaborate with Scrum Team members.

To get picky, there are no meetings described in Scrum.  There are events.  The distinction is that an event is done for a specific purpose with specific outcomes where a meeting can be something that happens with varied outcomes.

If you look at the events in the Scrum Guide, you see that each one has specific purpose and outcomes.  If you then take into account what external stakeholders would be able to contribute to those events and outcomes, it becomes easier to understand.
