How much role does a product owner play in terms of daily scrum

In my company, the scrum master sometimes says this and that about certain products moving forward during our daily scrum. The Scrum Master would just casually say, 'Jim (PO) mentioned that this will start 2-3 weeks time'.  Then all the POs have a staff meeting with the CIO (mangement) and 'Project Managers/ scrum masters' Then does that mean the PO will represent the opinions of the management during scrum. I am not sure if it is the PO that decides projects or the CIOs/ directors?

Under Scrum, the PO needs to be the voice of the customer and the organization for the Development Team.   The PO must be the single point of contact for direction to the team on what they should be working on.

From the Scrum Guide:

The Product Owner is one person, not a committee. The Product Owner may represent the desires of a committee in the Product Backlog, but those wanting to change a Product Backlog item’s priority must address the Product Owner.

For the Product Owner to succeed, the entire organization must respect his or her decisions. The Product Owner’s decisions are visible in the content and ordering of the Product Backlog. No one is allowed to tell the Development Team to work from a different set of requirements, and the Development Team isn’t allowed to act on what anyone else says.

Why is the Scrum Master "representing" the Product Owner during the Daily Scrum? What's the interaction between Product Owner and Dev Team and are there any further feedback loops (besides the Daily Scrum) where the Product Owner can communicate his/her vision to the rest of the team?

What relevance, if any, do these products your Scrum Master mentions have with regards to the Sprint Goal?

The Daily Scrum is an inspect&adapt meeting where the progress towards the sprint goal is inspected and the plan to reach the sprint goal is adapted. Only issues relevant to this purpose should be discussed during the Daily Scrum.
