Scrum.org Launches New AI Training for Scrum Masters
New course teaches the essentials of AI to support Scrum Masters and agile coaches
BOSTON, February 18 2026 - Today, Scrum.org announced that a new training course, Professional Scrum Master™ - AI Essentials (PSM-AI Essentials) is now available. The course introduces Scrum Masters, agile coaches and those in related roles to AI and how they can leverage it to be more successful in their jobs. The focus of this course is to build foundational AI skills to empower Scrum Masters to help themselves, their teams and their organizations be more effective.
AI has become a core capability in product delivery and is transforming every role. Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches have a key part to play in the use of AI and introducing AI to teams, products and organizations, acting as a catalyst for change. In this training course, students learn from experienced Professional Scrum Trainers while engaging in discussions and exercises to explore practical uses of AI tools and techniques across the accountabilities of the Scrum Master. In addition the course provides essential guidance on adopting AI responsibly, ethically and securely within an organization.

Students completing this course will understand how to:
- Explain key AI concepts, including machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, and agentic AI
- Describe how AI supports effective Scrum Team facilitation and collaboration
- Discuss how AI tools can enhance the Scrum Master accountabilities through real-world use cases
- Demonstrate practical uses of generative AI tools to support the Scrum Team and Scrum events
- Demonstrate effective AI prompt engineering to get the desired results
- Integrate AI tools in day-to-day work
- Implement AI-informed behaviors in day-to-day work
- Apply ethical and responsible practices when adopting and working with AI
Upon course completion, students will receive a free attempt for the PSM AI-Essentials certification test. The listing of PSM AI-Essentials courses and the Professional Scrum Trainers who teach it are available on the Scrum.org website with more to be listed in the coming weeks.
