Query for PSM II
Hi everyone, I got CSM certification from the Scrum Alliance recently. However, after reading the posts in this forum and re-considering my study path, I would like to follow the path at Scrum.org to continue my Scrum journey. I read many posts in this forum and aware that PSM I focuses more on the Scrum Guide. For my CSM certification, I studied really hard and did refer to many materials from Scrum.org as cross references, therefore, I guess I should have the fundamental knowledge of Scrum practice. As such, if I plan to take the PSM II exam directly (without PSM I certified) in a later time after gaining more experience in Scrum practice, is it allowed? Or I must still be certified as PSM I before being eligible to take the PSM II exam?
I used to be a Scrum Alliance guy. I hated the fact you had to sit in a 2 day class then take the cert. I was boot camp certified more than once by different orgs so they paid for it.
I have always known about scrum.org and have been coming here for years. When I decided to test myself again I chose scrum.org because the test is harder which means more at least to me and you can do it at your pace. So, I am doing them in a of order PSMI, PSMII, PSMIII, PSPO, PSK, PAL, and NEXUS.
I am pretty sure they don’t care what order you take them in and I hope to have them in a quarter or less.
Hi Dan, thanks for your sharing. Do you mean I am allowed to take the PSM II exam without PSM I certified?
Yep.
i took an incremental aproach from PSM I > PSPO I > PSD I > SPS to PSM II.
The questions in PSM II are much more challenging and you'll probably get questions about scaling (SPS).
