About Pete
As a Professional Scrum Trainer, Pete Dowling brings over 25 years of hands-on commercial IT and delivery experience, including more than 15 years of deep Scrum practice. He has guided organisations from innovative startups to large, traditional enterprises in applying Scrum’s empirical process control alongside broader agile practices to deliver measurable value in complex and uncertain environments.
Pete’s career spans roles as a Developer, Project manager, Delivery Manager, Scrum Master, Agile Coach, and strategic partner to leadership. He has led successful Scrum adoptions and scaled implementations (including Nexus), coached executives and cross-functional teams on genuine self-management, radical transparency, and relentless improvement, and successfully extended agile ways of working beyond technology into sales, finance, and HR. His work focuses on creating organisational alignment, optimising end-to-end systems, eliminating bottlenecks and waste, and enabling sustained value delivery through evidence-based practices.
Pete continues to partner with organisations on strategy, roadmaps, evidence-based operating models, sustainable agility, and systems optimisation.
Pete’s mission: To empower teams and leaders to apply Scrum’s core principles, events, and artifacts with intent — while embracing broader agile thinking — to foster collaboration, autonomy, alignment, and continuous systems improvement that delivers predictable, customer-focused outcomes.
His interactive, practical trainings draw on real-world scenarios and exercises from his own delivery career. They help participants move beyond mechanical adoption to a deep understanding of Scrum’s intent and agile principles, enabling confident, lasting application in their own complex environments.
