Professional Scrum Product Owner-AI Essentials (PSPO-AI Essentials) is an interactive, hands-on course designed to empower Product Owners, Product Managers, Business Analysts to understand, leverage, and apply Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support their job and teams.
The course also includes a free attempt at the globally recognized Professional Scrum Product Owner-AI Essentials (PSPO-AI Essentials) certification exam.
Course Overview
In this one day* course students engage in discussions and exercises to explore practical uses of AI tools and techniques across each stance of the Product Owner. In addition to the traditional stances, students are introduced to a new stance, focusing on security and ethics, providing essential guidance on adopting AI responsibly and securely within an organization.
Throughout this course, attendees will gain the skills and confidence to harness AI effectively, ensuring they remain at the forefront of delivering value in an ever-evolving digital landscape. The Product Owner of tomorrow masters AI—this training ensures you are prepared for that future.
* When offered in-person, this course is generally delivered over two consecutive days. When offered as a Live Virtual Class, the course may be broken up into more, shorter days.
Course Learning Outcomes
This course introduces Product Owners and related professionals to the fundamentals of AI and its applications in modern product development. When a student leaves the classroom they will be able to:
- Describe AI and how it supports modern product development
- Explain key concepts in AI, including machine learning, deep learning, generative AI, and agentic AI
- Discuss how AI tools can enhance Product Ownership through real-world use cases

Professional Scrum Certification
All participants completing the Professional Scrum Product Owner-AI Essentials course receive a password to take the Professional Scrum Product Owner-AI Essentials (PSPO-AI Essentials) assessment. The industry-recognized PSPO-AI Essentials certification requires a minimum passing score of 85%. Class participants of official Scrum.org classes who attempt the PSPO-AI Essentials assessment within 14 days of receiving their free password and do not score at least 85% will be granted a second attempt at no additional cost.

Why Scrum.org
Scrum.org training provides a hands-on, activity-based learning experience using a consistent set of materials around the world no matter which of our Professional Scrum Trainers (PSTs) is teaching the course. Each course explores real-world challenges to help students apply what they learn in their roles once back at work.
The maintenance of Scrum.org courseware is based on feedback from the overall PST community who are delivering each class. They all teach from the same content, bringing great consistency, but also feedback from the real-world to drive incremental improvements and high quality.
On their path to becoming a PST, they must have several years of Scrum experience. Once PST candidates apply, they then go through an extensive process that includes: interviews, validation of knowledge, training, peer reviews and more.

Students of Scrum.org courses are able to claim Project Management Institute (PMI) PDU credit: 7 PDUs after attending a one-day Professional Scrum Product Owner - AI (PSPO-AI) Essentials course. Please note that PMI PDUs are earned for course attendance and not for passing a Scrum.org assessment.
