Scrum.org and Comparative Agility Offer New Scrum Master Improvement Self-Assessment

New Self-Assessment is Designed to Help Scrum Masters Evaluate and Grow Their Skills

Boston, July 24, 2023Scrum.org, the Home of Scrum, today announced at the Agile 2023 Conference that together with Comparative Agility, a leading platform for continuous improvement, that they now offer a Scrum Master Improvement self-assessment. This new, free self-assessment tool allows Scrum Masters to evaluate their skills and assess areas for improvement based on the Scrum.org Professional Scrum Competencies.

“In Scrum, we are constantly inspecting and adapting and always looking for ways to improve,” said Dave West, CEO of Scrum.org. “Scrum Masters are accountable for the Scrum Team’s effectiveness, which requires a wide range of skills that they need to continually tune and develop. We are excited to further help Scrum Masters strive to understand their strengths and weaknesses in order to improve their skills and grow with this new self-assessment in partnership with Comparative Agility.”

This self-assessment guides Scrum Masters through a series of questions about core Scrum Master competencies and based on their answers they receive recommendations for a variety of curated learning resources to help them grow to better support their teams. Once users access the self-assessment, they can continually document and review their progress, revisit it, share it with coaches or managers for further help and compare to others at a global level. The competencies that are evaluated are:
 

  • Understanding and applying the Scrum framework
  • Developing people and teams
  • Managing products with agility
  • Developing and delivering products professionally
  • Evolving the agile organization
  • Scrum Master Leadership
