There were 4 other students in the…
There were 4 other students in the course and one instructor. The instructor did a great job of keeping us engaged throughout the course. We split into two team and completed exercises almost every single hour of the course. The instructor used Google Docs so all of the participants could interactively share their team projects and we learned as much from watching the other team as we did from our own team efforts. In the end, I learned a lot of great tools I can use to facilitate product development projects and build a product backlog.

I really enjoyed Rob's enthusiasm
I really enjoyed Rob's enthusiasm for Scrum and the material he was teaching. He is very personable and was able to describe complex topics in easy to understand ways, and used real-world examples that were very helpful. I also enjoyed that he had us break out in small groups to discuss the topics we were learning with assignments, which made the three all-day courses a lot more fun and engaging.

Took the PSPO course with Robb Pieper
Took the PSPO course with Robb Pieper and it was fantastic! Very engaging course for all three days, and it was a great chance to both learn new concepts and reinforce areas that I now know I need to revisit with my team. While this wasn't specifically a PSPO-AI course, the use of AI was optional/encouraged and ultimately I think it helped enrich the course and stimulate conversation during our breakout sessions. Additionally, Robb gave us the chance to talk with him about our unique situational challenges, and I have found this extremely helpful. HUGE THANKS!

Awesome From the Start to Finish
The training was highly interactive and fluid. Robb handled every topic with great professionalism throughout the training and demonstrated a flexible approach that addressed everyone's questions. The storytelling was very effective in helping the topics stick. He was an excellent example of a Professional Scrum Trainer for all participants.

An amazing experience of learning

Prepare before class
I had a fairly good experience, although I do learn better in-person and this was online. I'm very happy I took the pre-assessments and read through the guide prior to class. It should be required, as the class jumps right into the content.

I enjoyed the real world relatable exercises during the class and the group breakdown of projects. I thought the 3 day class would be overwhelming but it was perfect. Scrum Three Day Review
This was a three-day class, which I liked. A full, two-day commitment would have been draining. The material was presented in a way that was easy to understand. Even, for someone like myself, that is not a Scrum Master.

Great introduction course covering a broad area. Robb did a great job of interaction and allowing the appropriate questions. Lots of information to cover and Robb did a fantastic job.
Only improvement would be (as discussed with Robb) to reduce the principles covered on Day 1 down to 1/2 day and extend the actual execution from 1 day to 1 1/5 days.

Epic class
Epic class. Robb brings multiple disciplines together into a crazy pot of Scrum synergism. I want to take this class again and again because, even though I've been a scrum master for 2 years, he exposed me to new ideas and rigid thinking that I didn't know I had. I will be a better scrum master.
I took the PSM1 test a day after the class finished and got a 95%. My colleague in the same class got a 94%...and he took it the same evening class finished. But I want to restate that this is so much more than a test prep class. It's subtly powerful magic and Robb is an adept and pragmatic teacher.

Engaging, Personable, Thorough
Robert was engaging and very personal during this class. I enjoyed the exercises in which we were provided with opportunities to learn how to think like a Scrum Master and overall be a better leader. The whole course experience was incredible. Between the personalized pre-checks to ensure the course would go smoothly to the content of the course, to the engaging and open atmosphere that was fostered by Robert, it was fantastic. I think the virtual experience of it all also helped elevate the experience, since we were able to more easily interact with so many different peers via the breakrooms throughout the two days.

Lots of Fun, Great Learning, Highly Recommend
Really loved the class. Learned a lot and how Scrum will work and why it possibly wont work for my team. Great group of people with lots of different perspectives which is always fun. Some of the learning was a little rushed especially on the last day. Would have loved to have spent more time really drilling into some of the concepts more. Overall, highly recommend.

It was a very good class. Really liked the instructors. A lot of content for 2 days. In a non-covid environment I think the length of the class is fine, since the members can have further discussions during breaks/after class. Since I was familiar with the concepts, the class length was fine. However, it may have been difficult had I not had prior knowledge. Overall though, I would recommend this class and the instructors.

Highly Recommended Course
Both instructors/trainers were very knowledgeable. They knew how to make the class interesting and informative at the same time. I would highly suggest this class if you’re just starting out with Scrum or even if you have experience with it. It could be a great refresher course if it’s the latter.

PSM1 Review
This course is excellent for both new Scrum Masters and those with experience. It offers and in-depth review of the Scrum Guide with practical applications and group exercises to reinforce the concepts. The small number of participants is excellent for sharing personal stories and ensuring everyone has a chance to participate. Rob Pieper (instructor) is well-versed in his knowledge and experience with Scrum and provided plenty of his own experiences. He encouraged participation and kept the group engaged. Overall this was an excellent course.

I (a SM) attended with my PO and we both learned a lot about the product side of things
My class had a lot of questions and was very interactive, which meant we had to gloss over some of the less important information, which I still would have like to discussed in more detail. The time-box for the class was rigidly adhered to and I felt we weren't able to cover as much as I would have liked to have covered. But it was helpful to dive deeper and get burning questions finally answered.

Chicago 2019 Polar Vortex Class
I would recommend this Professional Scrum Master course to anyone. Robert Pieper is a very capable instructor who is able to simplify Scrum theory by blending course content with personal work experience. His teaching style is collaborative and visual. You can tell he is passionate about the framework and is more than willing to answer every question his students have. Not to mention, he still held our class despite Chicago's 2019 polar vortex, with record low temps, those same days. Take the course, you won't regret it!

About Robert
I’m Robert Pieper, a licensed Scrum.org Professional Scrum Trainer and founder of Responsive Advisors, a Chicago-based consulting and training firm.
I’ve been teaching Professional Scrum since 2013 and have delivered more than 300 Scrum.org classes to over 3,000 students through public and private engagements. My background includes 15 years as a professional software developer, hands-on experience as a Scrum Master and Product Owner, and formal education leading to an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering and a MBA, giving me a practical perspective that connects Scrum to real business outcomes.

Real-world experience, not career training
Before becoming a trainer, I worked as an engineer and software developer, then as an embedded consultant inside client organizations. I’ve also been a business owner for nearly a decade managing a team, responsible for real P&L decisions, not just hypothetical case studies.
That experience shapes how I teach. I understand the trade-offs, constraints, and political realities teams and leaders face because I’ve lived them.

I had a great experience during the course. The organisation and Rob were great. The training went smoothly and was highly informative and interactive. You really learn the key concept of Agile from a Scrum Master perspective and unlearn what you thought Agile was.

I enjoyed the real world relatable…
I enjoyed the real world relatable exercises during the class and the group breakdown of projects. I thought the 3 day class would be overwhelming but it was perfect. I'm not currently working on a scrum team, but I will be able to apply this methodology of working together to my current technical consulting role.

Scrum Three Day Review
This was a three-day class, which I liked. A full, two-day commitment would have been draining. The material was presented in a way that was easy to understand. Even, for someone like myself, that is not a Scrum Master.

Robert's class was very informative with clear knowledge imparted on all the topics. The various discussions, exercises done solidified my scrum concepts and cleared air on several questions I had.
The class was well structured and conducted. Robert is on-time and meticulous.

Great introduction course covering a broad area. Robb did a great job of interaction and allowing the appropriate questions. Lots of information to cover and Robb did a fantastic job.
Only improvement would be (as discussed with Robb) to reduce the principles covered on Day 1 down to 1/2 day and extend the actual execution from 1 day to 1 1/5 days.

Epic class
Epic class. Robb brings multiple disciplines together into a crazy pot of Scrum synergism. I want to take this class again and again because, even though I've been a scrum master for 2 years, he exposed me to new ideas and rigid thinking that I didn't know I had. I will be a better scrum master.
I took the PSM1 test a day after the class finished and got a 95%. My colleague in the same class got a 94%...and he took it the same evening class finished. But I want to restate that this is so much more than a test prep class. It's subtly powerful magic and Robb is an adept and pragmatic teacher.

Intense Training, but much recommend!!!
It was a very insightful ! Training helped me better understand The Scrum Guide and how to apply it. Instructor was very knowledgeable and explained in detailed on the section of The Scrum Guide in a way that definitely help me very much.

I thoroughly enjoyed learning about SCRUM from Robb. His teaching style is very engaging and thought provoking. Remember the "cool" teacher you had in high school? The one where it was so much fun to be in his class that you actually learned stuff because of how fun the class was? That is what you will get with Robb!

Engaging, Personable, Thorough
Robert was engaging and very personal during this class. I enjoyed the exercises in which we were provided with opportunities to learn how to think like a Scrum Master and overall be a better leader. I loved that the class was small and allowed me to meet other people from different backgrounds who were also got interested in Scrum. His follow up resources were rigorous and thorough and generous! The whole course experience was…
The whole course experience was incredible. Between the personalized pre-checks to ensure the course would go smoothly to the content of the course, to the engaging and open atmosphere that was fostered by Robert, it was fantastic. I think the virtual experience of it all also helped elevate the experience, since we were able to more easily interact with so many different peers via the breakrooms throughout the two days.

Lots of Fun, Great Learning, Highly Recommend
Really loved the class. Learned a lot and how Scrum will work and why it possibly wont work for my team. Great group of people with lots of different perspectives which is always fun. Some of the learning was a little rushed especially on the last day. Would have loved to have spent more time really drilling into some of the concepts more. Overall, highly recommend.

Verry good class.
It was a very good class. Really liked the instructors. A lot of content for 2 days. In a non-covid environment I think the length of the class is fine, since the members can have further discussions during breaks/after class. Since I was familiar with the concepts, the class length was fine. However, it may have been difficult had I not had prior knowledge. Overall though, I would recommend this class and the instructors.

Highly Recommended Course
Both instructors/trainers were very knowledgeable. They knew how to make the class interesting and informative at the same time. I would highly suggest this class if you’re just starting out with Scrum or even if you have experience with it. It could be a great refresher course if it’s the latter.

PSM1 Review
This course is excellent for both new Scrum Masters and those with experience. It offers and in-depth review of the Scrum Guide with practical applications and group exercises to reinforce the concepts. The small number of participants is excellent for sharing personal stories and ensuring everyone has a chance to participate. Rob Pieper (instructor) is well-versed in his knowledge and experience with Scrum and provided plenty of his own experiences. He encouraged participation and kept the group engaged. Overall this was an excellent course.

I (a SM) attended with my PO and we both learned a lot about the product side of things
My class had a lot of questions and was very interactive, which meant we had to gloss over some of the less important information, which I still would have like to discussed in more detail. The time-box for the class was rigidly adhered to and I felt we weren't able to cover as much as I would have liked to have covered. But it was helpful to dive deeper and get burning questions finally answered.

Chicago 2019 Polar Vortex Class
I would recommend this Professional Scrum Master course to anyone. Robert Pieper is a very capable instructor who is able to simplify Scrum theory by blending course content with personal work experience. His teaching style is collaborative and visual. You can tell he is passionate about the framework and is more than willing to answer every question his students have. Not to mention, he still held our class despite Chicago's 2019 polar vortex, with record low temps, those same days. Take the course, you won't regret it!

Highly Recommend even if you scrum currently
I've been using the scrum framework with my team for the past three years but I learn a lot of ways to improve and be more agile during our development sprints. Robert's class was great and engaging and I'd recommend attending.
